Tae Kwon Do Students Represent Academy Well

A number of students from the American Academy of Tae Kwon Do in Colleyville recently competed in the DFW International Championship Tournament in Carrollton, and several had excellent showings.

According to a news release, "Colleyville students Kyle Cicherski and Gideon King won gold medals in sparring, while Asia Anderton, Alicia King and Gracie Compton were awarded bronze medals in sparring competition."

The American Academy of Tae Kwon Do is led by instructor Master Ricardo Dominguez.

Panthers Rally Late but Come Up Short

The Colleyville Heritage Varsity Silver hockey team cut a 2-0 deficit in half with under five minutes to play in last Thursday’s game against Plano West, but could not complete the comeback and ended up losing 2-1 at the ITC Red Arena.

The Panthers moved to 3-5 on the season with the loss.

West scored in each of the first two periods to take a 2-0 lead into the third period, when Charlie Burgess broke through in the 11th minute with an unassisted goal for Colleyville Heritage.

The shots were even in the match at 17 each, and Panthers goalie Hayden Tree stopped 15 of 17 shots on goal.
