Grapevine Defeats Midlothian
The Grapevine Silver hockey team picked up its second win of the season last Thursday with a 4-3 victory over Midlothian in a back-and-forth affair.
Jack Freeman got things started for the Mustangs with a powerplay goal in the first period on an assist from Dustin Tirey and Shaun Foster.
Midlothian tied it up early in the second when Tirey scored on an assist from Alex Rife and Robbie Cooper to make it 2-1 Grapevine.
Midlothian tied it up again, but Rife scored with less than a minute to play in the second period on assists from Tirey and Freeman.
Midlothian tied it back up 46 seconds into the third period on a powerplay goal, but Foster would score with just under four minutes to play in the game on an assist from Quinn Hardtke to put it away for Grapevine.
Panthers Lose Tough One
The Colleyville Heritage Silver hockey team lost 4-1 to Rockwall last Thursday in a game that had a promising start for the Panthers.
Colleyville jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period on a Tommy Buffano goal with Jake Walton assist.
That was the only offense the Panthers could muster, however, and Colleyville Heritage moved to 3-3 on the season.
